On the Bayous of southern Louisiana, fishing is the everyday activity.  Every neighbor has a boat.  At a family bbq in Lafitte, LA a generous neighbor dropped off these steamed crabs that her husband had caught earlier in the day, and patiently taught us the best way to methodically disassemble them to get at the meat.

Rusty_fence

Tucked away in the shadows of Candlestick Park, there is an industrial wasteland.  Old bricks, broken appliances, abandoned tires, all behind a rusted fence.  There are plans to develop Candlestick Point, but for now its a snapshot of waste.  Egrets and other fauna pick around the detritus, before casting off to the greener areas south of the ballpark.  Its quiet and beautiful here.
